The redesign of our new Aluco internal doors, part of our Interior Collection, starts with engineering and aluminium profile quality. Where other competitor doors feature hollow ‘box section’ frame profiles, our doors are designed with multiple profile chambers with thicker aluminium profiles. You benefit from stronger and better-built doors. Moreover, our doors used day-to-day, feel solid and reliable and never light and flimsy.

The significant benefit of the new Aluco internal aluminium door is the improved design and more advanced construction. In addition to the stronger and better multi-chambered profiles, our doors are made around the glass. Unlike the unglazed manufacturing method of other doors, making the doors around the glass not only results in a better-made and finished door but also one that is tighter, more robust, and substantially stronger.

The way we build our doors is similar to high-end aluminium sliding doors also made around the glass in the factory. We think this is the best way to give you a complete product that is fully checked across every stage of its production, right down to ensuring the glass fits right, sits correctly and is an integral part of the entire door set.

EVEN THINNER ALUMINIUM INTERNAL DOORS

When comparing our new Aluco aluminium internal doors to the other internal door products, ours are the slimmest.

You’ll find our doors more than 15% narrower than competitor products at the all-important sightline between the edge of the door frame to the glass line. You benefit from doors that look more like steel doors, with more glass and less visible frames.

We’ve even slimmed down the feature lockbox and handle backplate, making it smaller and to the smaller size of genuine steel.

wraparound sash design

Only Aluco aluminium internal doors have the wraparound sash design. This means the doors are made in our factory around the glass.

This design has numerous benefits. Most important is that our doors don’t rattle because the glass is part of the construction and is not fitted after the doors are made.

This more complex way of making your new doors also means they’re stronger, the glazing beads are fitted in our factory, and the entire construction give you better, and longer lasting doors.

NEW OVERLAPPING DOOR AND FRAME DESIGN

Another significant design change is how Aluco aluminium internal doors now overlap the slimmed-down frame when closed. This design feature is, of course, found on exterior quality steel-look doors.

Other aluminium internal doors are designed to sit centrally and look flush when closed. One drawback to this is that closed doors can rattle. Our new overlapping design keeps your doors firmly shut when needed with no risk of rattling because every part of the door sash rests against the frame.

The advantage of this new and improved design is that your new doors look similar to steel doors that also are designed to overlap the frame.

THE TALLEST DOORS WHEN YOU NEED THEM

Another new feature designed for our doors is their ability to go taller.

The new Aluco aluminium internal doors are capable of substantially larger sizes when you want big doorways without needing a fixed glazed panel above. Bigger doors, more light, more glass and a more spacious feel to your rooms.

In fact, the only other door that can go as tall or taller as an Aluco door is a steel door!

better sealing, quieter rooms

Only Aluco aluminium internal doors are designed with a unique double seal.

As your doors close, you feel the positive closing action as the door sash closes onto its specially designed door seals.

The result is doors that don’t have the metal-to-metal feel of other doors but close with a reassuring soft close. The double seal also ensures less noise transmission between your rooms.

CENTRALLY LOCATED GLASS

The appeal of a classic metal door in the industrial look, Art-Deco or Heritage style is all about symmetry and balance. What better way to achieve this than give you an identical appearance whether you are standing inside or outside your room?

The new Aluco aluminium internal doors feature a unique centralised glazing design. The benefit is equal depth to the door shoulders on each side.

No other aluminium door has this ingenious design feature, where you’ll always find one side of the door thicker than the other or the glass flat against the edges on the one side and a thick aluminium sightline behind.

THE SLIMMEST ALL-GLASS DOORS

Our new Aluco aluminium internal doors also come in our unique floating lock design, giving you what is genuinely the slimmest fully glazed aluminium door on the market. Only steel doors are thinner.

Floating lock doors are our own design and creation and again, only steel doors offer this option, where the feature lock body floats into the glass line.

The improved Aluco internal doors now take thicker single glazing, providing an even better door. 6mm toughened safety glass is standard, with up to 6.8mm laminate or 7mm single glazing available.

Both our internal and external door systems give you the biggest choice of glazing bars. You can choose the ultra-slim steel-like 20mm bar, 25mm bar or the 33mm transom for a bolder-looking door.

Like steel doors, Aluco double doors are designed with the feature lock body on the primary door only. Or you can opt for a symmetrical look with the feature lock body on the secondary leaf as well.
