Safety glass as standard
As standard, all Aluco doors come with toughened safety glass either double-glazed or single glazed, for our Interior Collection of doors and screens. 4mm single toughened glass is used in our interior doors, with 6mm single toughened glass available due to door sizes or customer requirements. 6.4mm laminated glass is also available as an upgrade.

High-specification glass units
Our Exterior Collection of doors uses insulated low U-Value 28mm glass units with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. Laminated glass is also available for enhanced security and protection, designed to stay intact in the event of glass breakage. Aluco Windows and double-glazed products where safety glass is not required use annealed glass units with the same specification.

For bathrooms, cloakrooms or where privacy is required, Aluco interior and exterior windows and doors come with a complete range of contemporary and traditional glass designs. These offer varying levels of transparency and privacy to meet home and commercial building requirements, single-glazed or as insulated glass units, toughened where required in doors and low-level glazed areas.

The glass in every Aluco product comes from the best-known glass processors and manufacturers, giving all our products quality glass with the best possible clarity, transparency and performance. At the same time, all our glass is produced to established industry standards whilst also conforming to thickness, type and required function.
Insulated glass units are designed to work with our thermally insulated frames, giving our exterior doors and windows good U-Values and meeting current Building Regulations, depending on the U-Value required and glass specification chosen.
