Expertly manufactured from our Elite Exterior Collection, the glazing runs through the whole house. Black steel look casements to the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen, and full height side screens flanking the luxury front door. All our products, manufactured from our premium grade aluminium with high performance glass, and the finest Black RAL 9005 matt colour finish.
Art Deco is one of the few design periods where the glazing forms an important part of the architecture. The arched windows, the horizontal banding, the slim black frames against white render: take those away and the style collapses. That is why this project started with the windows rather than finishing with them.
In the seaside village of Milford on Sea, this was a full refurbishment inside and out, with an extensive landscaping scheme alongside it. Art Deco sets the tone of the external façade and runs through the detailing. Inside, the ground floor opens into a large kitchen and dining space, and the hall carries a bespoke staircase and timber panelling. Each bathroom was designed individually and finished to a high standard, with herringbone wall tiling and Art Deco inspired design scheme throughout.
Art Deco windows, drawn to period proportions
The windows here are Aluco Elite Windows in matt black, with horizontal glazing bars dividing each window into the distinctive grid-like pattern, typical of the period.
Aluco Elite Windows are made from premium aluminium, enhanced by a deep polyamide thermal break and with a durable Qualicoat Standard colour finish. As standard we provide multipoint locking, internal glazing beads so glass can not be removed from the outside, and high performance glass units, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. The bathroom casements carry traditional ironmongery, with monkey tail stays and period casement fasteners.

Aluco Front Door Screens
Accompanying these bespoke Art Deco windows in Hampshire is a luxury front door by another brand. This met the design requirements and we were called on to provide the side screens.
Framed by a pair of tall, narrow Aluco fixed windows, each divided by horizontal bars to match the window rhythm across the elevation. They flank a black entrance door with three square glazed apertures, stainless steel lever and letterplate. All glass in the side panels is toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill. .
The screens do two jobs. They carry daylight into the hall, which on a north facing porch would otherwise be dark, and they set the proportion of the whole entrance. Narrow, vertical and heavily barred, they frame the opening the way a 1930s porch was always framed, and they tie the front elevation to every other window on the house.
