Set within beautifully restored stonework and natural oak frames, Aluco’s black RAL 9005 matt finish provides a bold and elegant contrast. BLACK HERITAGE WINDOWS IN OAK FRAMES
Surrounding the oak front door is a set of Aluco black side panels, each divided into three vertical modules, with opening sashes providing ventilation without interrupting the sightlines. Above, a full-height glazed section forms an impressive aluminium and oak entrance screen. Three large window units, also in a three-module design, sit above the door in perfect symmetry—creating the appearance of a curtain walling-style screen framed in timber.
This glazed entrance delivers exceptional visual impact, with slim steel-inspired lines, perfectly matched cills, and glazing bars that align across all adjoining elements. It’s a modern interpretation of heritage glazing that respects the building’s traditional materials.

Along the main elevation of the barn is a further double casement window, complemented by three smaller vertical window units, each comprising an opening sash above a fixed glazed panel. These repeat the same black heritage detailing, with slim glazing bars and balanced sightlines across the entire elevation.
To the rear, a further screen incorporates glazed doors and fanlights, flanked by two horizontal strip Aluco Steel-look Windows that echo the proportions of the front elevation. Every component is coordinated in finish, glazing specification, and hardware for a unified, considered appearance.
Two-Storey Glazing with Aluco French Doors
One of the most distinctive features of this project is the three-storey elevation along the side of the barn. This section includes four sets of Aluco French doors, combined with a tall, fixed glazed window in a contemporary design.
At ground level, two sets of outward-opening French doors with overhead fanlights provide access to the patio. Above, on the first floor, two identical sets of French doors open inwards from behind a steel balcony. Between the levels, a structural steel beam is colour-matched to the frames, offering support without disrupting the architectural lines.
Each set of doors features our standard steel-look glazing bars, signature backplate lock design, contemporary black handles and colour-matched hinges—delivering the authentic steel-inspired look with all the benefits of aluminium.
Performance and Practicality Built In
All windows and doors are double glazed with toughened safety glass and built to meet or exceed current Building Regulations. The glazing includes soft-coat low-emissivity coatings, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill, offering excellent insulation and energy efficiency.
Multipoint locking comes as standard on all doors, with high-security cylinders, robust internal glazing, and secure mechanical fixings throughout. Discreet trickle vents and matching window and door cills ensure a neat, compliant finish across the entire project.
