Fitted to the rear extension of a semi-detached home, the new Aluco doors form a glazed wall between the kitchen, living space, and garden. The configuration includes outward-opening French doors, flanked by matching side panels.
Together, they offer near-perfect symmetry and proportions that replicate original steel doors—with ultra-slim sightlines and 20mm horizontal glazing bars that run through the entire set.
Also provided to this project is a set of French doors in the same RAL 6016 matt colour. They have the same 20mm, glazing bars, which virtually replicate bars on genuine steel doors. They also feature the exclusive Aluco Floating Lock ™ design.
At the head of each door set are colour=matched trickle vents in line with current Building Regulations and both door sets are fitted with an elegant period handle in an antique brass finish.
A Matching Interior Screen for Light and Flow
To maintain visual continuity between rooms, a fixed internal window is also installed between the kitchen and dining space. Built to the same specification—RAL 6021 finish, 20mm vertical glazing bars, and minimal framing—this feature screen brings borrowed light into the central part of the house. Where a traditional transom might otherwise be used, the design remains completely vertical for a sleeker result.
This internal feature window creates a sense of openness, matches with the decor and meets the client instruction that the use of glazing would allow their interior to feel brighter, calmer, and more inviting.
