All Aluco internal doors are made using architectural quality premium aluminium sourced from the leading aluminium extruders and using only prime billet. Designed to be slim, strong, and above all stylish, you are assured of high-quality aluminium profiles in every one of our doors or screens.
Information about Aluco Aluminium Colours
All Aluco aluminium profiles are coated using advanced profile pretreatment and coating methods, ensuring a luxurious and premium finish in your choice of over 150 RAL colours or special colours made to order. Every profile is professional coated only by certified and approved colour applicators, using colour powders from the best possible manufacturers and applied in a controlled, certified and quality-controlled environment.
Aluco internal doors have the same premium colour finish as our exterior range of doors and windows, designed to be easy to clean, durable and withstand the vigours of everyday living.
Aluco offers a range of standard RAL colours on shorter lead times or any available RAL colours made to order.
Configuring your new Aluco internal doors.
The first consideration for designing and configuring Aluco internal doors is the size of the doorway. The options for designing your doors to suit the required aperture include:
Single doors
Single doors are great for standard-size doorways, new or existing. Wider and taller door openings can have additional side and top panels, creating a larger glazed area whilst retaining the same size of door.
Double doors
Where the size of the opening requires a double door design, our Interior Collection of steel-inspired doors, provides stylish, doors with the option of opening one or two of the door leaves. Just like single doors, these too can be designed with optional side panels and top-glazed panels.
For the purposes of this article we are focusing on how to design hinged internal Aluco doors but do check out the sliding door option available.

Bespoke designs with doors and screening
Also available when considering the design of internal Aluco doors is how you can create larger glazing combinations. Colour options with internal Aluco Doors
With over 150 RAL colours available to choose from, including anodised, metallic and textured colours, Aluco doors come in a range of standard from stock colours, improving the lead times. Or the special colours provide virtually unlimited choice at slightly longer delivery dates. Your local Aluco Approved Installer can confirm lead times.
Black, grey and white colours are very popular for internal doors and all Aluco doors come with a marine-grade paint finish, applied by professional and certified colour applicators.
Choosing the best glass for internal doors
Aluco doors are provided with 4mm clear toughened glass as standard. Durable, strong and safe it is widely used for internal doors and critical glazed areas. Thicker 6mm glass is available as well. 6.4mm Laminated glass provides an extra barrier of protection, designed to hold together in the unlikely event of a glass breakage.
The glass options available with Aluco doors extend to clear, patterned, obscure, reeded, sandblasted and other designs available from the well-known glass processors such as Pilkington Glass or Saint-Gobain. Doors can have single or multiple glass types in each product.
Choosing handles and accessories for Aluco steel-inspired doors
Finishing off all Aluco doors are the many handle options, door accessories and optional extras.
There are two types of door handles available, the Leon handle featuring a straight design or the Maya range with a soft curvature at the bottom. These come in black, satin, chrome and Antique Brass finishes. our handles operate a single or double door lock case, with a 65mm backset and of the exceptional quality expected with interior door hardware. It is tested to BE EN 12209:2003, Certifier tested CF-850 and comes with a ten year mechanical guarantee.
Our lock options include doors with additional deadbolt, operated by a matching finish thumb turn cylinder, suitable for bathrooms or general door locking. Or there is latch only option with no locking facility operated by lever handles both sides.
Additional options for Aluco doors include:
Floor mounted door stops or wall mounted protect interior decoration, walls and skirting boards. These come in stain or polished chrome.
The secondary lear on Aluco double doors operates via hidden stainless steel flush bolts, or finger bolts. These engage into suitable floor mounted pockets, available in gold or satin chrome finishes.
For commercial settings, internal Aluco doors come with a period door closer. Face mounted and designed to soft-close the door with control, it’s available in black or satin silver finishes.
